ENHANCED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD THIS AFTERNOON AND AGAIN THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS, GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS AND DRYING FINE FUELS WILL CREATE AN ELEVATED RISK FOR THE SPREAD OF WILDFIRES THIS AFTERNOON. NO RAIN IS EXPECTED INTO THURSDAY, SO THE ENHANCED RISK WILL ALSO EXIST ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK VEHICLES IN GRASSY AREAS AND ENSURE PROPER DISPOSAL OF ANY SMOKING MATERIALS. IT ONLY TAKES ONE IMPROPERLY DISPOSED CIGARETTE TO IGNITE A FIRE. IF YOU SPOT A FIRE, PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY.

IncidentsReceived a report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the car was still glowing. Remained on scene until the cause was confirmed.

EVFC Incident #23 04/04/2014 at 2:25pm - 435 Burdick Ave for a Structure Fire

IncidentsReport of a structure fire. Arrived at the residence and smoke was showing from the rear of the building at the eve of the roof. Made entrance to the building and made way to the bathroom. Access was made to the roof from inside via a craw space and the fire was contained to that area. Ventilation cuts were made to assist in extinguishing the fire and the back part of the wall in the bathroom, at the ceiling was opened to look for extension. After viewing the extent of the fire spread, it was determined that the fire was totally extinguished.

17-year-old charged with arson, other charges, after fire at Oakcrest High School

The school day at Oakcrest High School was interrupted for a short time when staff and students were forced to evacuate after a small fire. 

Fire crews responded to the call of a fire at the high school just after 9:30am Tuesday. 

Fire crews quickly extinguished the flames in a bathroom. 

Damage was limited to a portion of the bathroom. There were no injuries reported. 

Investigators have identified a 17-year-old suspect from Mizpah.

He was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated arson, fourth degree of risking widespread injury, and third degree criminal mischief.

The suspect is in the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center pending court.

EVFC Incident #22 03/31/2014 at 6:15pm - White Horse Pike & 9th Ave for an MVA Roll Over

IncidentsSingle car left the road, hit a pole, and overturned. One person was in the vehicle and self-extricated. Assisted EMS and assisted police with traffic. Atlantic City Electric made downed wires safe.
