Afternoon fire devastates Mullica Twp. house

MULLICA TWP. -One person was hospitalized after a fire tore through a Mullica Township home Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived at the intersection of Moss Mill Road and Heidelberg Avenue to find the house in flames and smoke coming from the roof.

Officials say there were no fire hydrants in the rural neighborhood, and firefighters were forced to bring in tankers to fight the blaze.

One person was taken to the hospital for what authorities are calling only minor injuries.

The home suffered extensive damage and fire officials say it will likely be a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

EVFC Incident #79 10/29/2014 at 11:54am - 1326 Heidelberg ave for a Structure Fire

IncidentsCalled out for a structure fire. On arrival, entire second floor fully engulfed and through the roof. Extinguished fire. After scene investigation complete, overhauled building and soaked with foam. All units clear at 4:05pm.

IncidentsMalfunctioning heater, fan seized up, caused high heat in the house and smoke conditions. Fire company shut off heater, advised to keep off until repairs are made.
