IncidentsReceived a report of a structure fire. Arrived on scene and fire was quickly contained and extinguished at the C/D corner of the roof, at the soffit. Extra precaution was taken as the fire was directly under a solar panel array.

Smartphone app helps firefighters in Atl. Co.

LINWOOD - When responding to an emergency, every second counts - and to improve response times, firefighters in Linwood are now using a cell phone application to help save lives.

Typically, when a fire department gets a call, not all of the company's firefighters are at the station. For the Linwood Fire Department, in the past, officials say it was difficult to figure out how many firefighters were going to be there to help fight the flames.

Three condo units destroyed in Sea Isle

SEA ISLE CITY — Three unoccupied beachfront condos were destroyed by a fire Friday afternoon, and smoke filled nearby homes on the eve of a holiday weekend. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters at the scene said the calls came in at about 4 p.m. and the fire was under control by 6 p.m. The cause is still under investigation.

"It's a sad, sad, day, but no one was injured," said Mayor Len Desiderio, who added that three homes on Pleasure Avenue in the 7800 block were totally engulfed and destroyed and several others....Continue Reading
