GALLOWAY TWP. -
An early morning fire tore through part of a housing complex in Galloway Township. It happened before 4:00 a.m. Thursday at The Woods at Blue Heron Pines, on the 1000 block of Bally Bunion Drive just off Tilton Road. Fire officials arrived on the scene to find one of the units fully engulfed in flames. All occupants were able to escape the building, although officials say one person suffered slight burns to his hands and was treated on the scene by paramedics. Police say a lit cigarette left near a mattress sparked the fire, which quickly spread to other parts of the building. It took firefighters more than an hour to bring the fire under control, and multiple rooms suffered extensive damage. The Red Cross and Salvation Army are assisting all four people who were displaced after the fire One injured in Pleasantville fire
PLEASANTVILLE — One person was injured in a fire that ravaged a home Monday afternoon on Seneca Avenue. The Pleasantville Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a single-family home on the street about 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, there was heavy fire throughout the home's first floor, extending out the windows up to the second floor, Battalion Chief Ken Crawford said. The fire was under control shortly after 3:30 p.m. All eight occupants were out of the building when firefighters arrived, and one had sustained minor burns, Crawford said. That person was taken to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point by Northfield EMS for treatment. No names were released. Fire companies from the Atlantic City International Airport and Northfield assisted the Pleasantville Fire Department at the scene, while companies from Absecon and Ventnor provided coverage for the rest of the city.
