IncidentsReceived a call for an activated fire alarm at the Elwood School. Searched the building and found the faulty head that caused the alarm. School personnel were on scene and cleared the alarm and confirmed the false alarm.

3 homes burning in Mays Landing fire

Three homes are burning in a massive fire in Mays Landing, New Jersey.

 

The fire was reported around 2:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Pebble Beach Drive.

The blaze reportedly started in one home, then spread to a second home within minutes.

The wind is fueling the fire, which then spread to a third home.

 

Neighbors say the fire may have started in a shed between two of the homes.

So far, no injuries have been reported. One person was in the first home that caught fire and was able

New fire erupts in Wharton State Forest

Crews from the state Forest Fire Service are battling a blaze that has already consumed about 250 acres in the Wharton State Forest in southern New Jersey.

The fire had not been contained as of late Sunday afternoon, but authorities believed they could keep it from spreading. No injuries or property damage have been reported.

Several nearby roads have been shut down so crews can battle the blaze, and a nearby campground was evacuated.

The blaze is the latest in a series of forest fires in the state that have been spawned in recent days by dry conditions.
