EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP ‑ A small fire broke out this afternoon at the William J. Hughes Federal Aviation Administration's Technical Center, according to an FAA official.

The fire started at 12:10 p.m. in a fourth-floor transformer room inside the tech center's main office building, which houses administrative offices, some computer labs, a cafeteria and credit union, according to Holly Baker, an FAA spokeswoman. No one was hurt and the building was evacuated. The workers were allowed to go home or stay inside an adjoining office building until the fire scene was all clear, Baker said.

The fire is being handled by firefighters from the Atlantic City International Airport, the 177th New Jersey Air National Guard, and the Cardiff, Farmington and Cologne volunteer fire companies.

EGG HARBOR CITY - The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is expected to release new information this morning, after two people were shot late Monday at the Harbor City apartment complex on Atlantic Avenue.

At this point, police have confirmed there were two victims. At least one was airlifted from a landing zone set up at Atlantic and Bremen avenues. (The Egg Harbor City Fire Department landed the Helicopter.)

A few neighbors said there was a shootout or that they had heard shots fired.

At least a dozen police cars, including from neighboring Galloway and Mullica townships, responded to the scene, and the parking lots were blocked with yellow police tape. Several officers stood watch carrying assault rifles.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit was called to the scene.

EVFC has learned from a witness on the scene that one person was transported to Mainland while CPR was being performed and the other was airlifted with 3 gunshot wounds with one of them being to the head.
