HAMMONTON - Illegal chemicals found at a North Washington Street home Tuesday were confirmed to have been explosive.

The Elwood Fire Company along with Hammonton Rescue responded to a 2-car MVA at Rt 30 and Elwood Rd at 4:30pm on Sunday May 10th. The accident involved a utility pole and 2 people were severely injured. EVFC's Engine 16-3 responded to the scene while Tanker 16-5 landed 2 helicopters at the Mullica Twp School. Medivac 5 and Southstar transported 2 victims to Atlantic City Med Center in Atlantic City.

Our friend Rich Moulder from The Chews Landing Fire Company sent us these Pictures of a Car which drove right across the yard though the trees and half way into the house.
The Elwood Fire Company recently participated in a Search & Rescue Drill with The Hammonton Fire Department and Collings Lakes. Engine 16-3 laid their 4" line to the hydrant and suppled water while the crew preformed search & rescue and roof ventilation.

Egg Harbor Township - A township restaurant burned for the second time in 2-weeks Wednesday morning at 1:30am.
The emergency call came in at about 1:30 a.m. for the former Our Place Too restaurant at Zion Road and Dover Avenue, Callers reported a boat on fire behind the restaurant and quickly spread to the building.
More than 20 firefighters from the Bargaintown and Scullville volunteer fire departments battled the blaze, which took about 45 minutes to get under control. The restaurant was under renovation at the time of the first fire.
The fire is being investigated by the township fire inspector.

The Elwood Fire Company was called to the Elwood School at 11:39am on April 26th for a Landing Zone Assignment. The victim was mowing his grass when his neighbor cut a tree down and fell on top of the victim. Engine 16-3 landed Medivac 5 at the Elwood School. All units clear at 11:59am.
