EGG HARBOR CITY - The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is expected to release new information this morning, after two people were shot late Monday at the Harbor City apartment complex on Atlantic Avenue.
At this point, police have confirmed there were two victims. At least one was airlifted from a landing zone set up at Atlantic and Bremen avenues. (The Egg Harbor City Fire Department landed the Helicopter.)
A few neighbors said there was a shootout or that they had heard shots fired.
At least a dozen police cars, including from neighboring Galloway and Mullica townships, responded to the scene, and the parking lots were blocked with yellow police tape. Several officers stood watch carrying assault rifles.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit was called to the scene.
EVFC has learned from a witness on the scene that one person was transported to Mainland while CPR was being performed and the other was airlifted with 3 gunshot wounds with one of them being to the head.

Update: One dead, one injured in Egg Harbor City shooting
EGG HARBOR CITY - One man is dead and another seriously injured after a Monday shooting at the Harbor City apartment complex on Atlantic Avenue.
Officials are searching for other people involved in the shooting.
Police responded to the apartment complex at 11:11 p.m. When they arrived they found two men in a courtyard, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Sandy Thomas, 30, of Galloway Township, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officials will conduct an autopsy this afternoon.
Thomas has been in trouble with the law often in the past decade, on charges ranging from possession of cocaine in 1998 to parole violations in 2000 to resisting arrest and crashing into a marked patrol car in 2003. After that arrest he was sentenced to a maximum of four years in prison, according to the state's Department of Corrections Web site.
The second victim, Shawn Travis, 24, of Egg Harbor City, was transported to the trauma unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City.

Egg Harbor City has been the scene of a handful of shootings during the past two decades:
_ On May 5, 2004, Gregory Caceres-Zapata of Galloway Township collapsed outside Tommy's Market, in the 5600 block of Pacific Avenue, after being shot in the abdomen. He later died from his injuries, and the case remains unsolved.
_ On March 11, 2002, Egg Harbor City police Cpl. Charles Baldi shot and killed 18-year-old Jason Remillard during an early-morning foot chase down a Philadelphia Avenue alleyway. Remillard, of Mullica Township, had been driving a stolen vehicle. A grand jury later ruled that Baldi was justified in the shooting.
_ On May 2, 1995, two men were wounded in a shooting at the Harbor City Apartments after an argument erupted.
