Report Recommends Hamilton Merge Five Fire Companies

  HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - Local officials are reviewing a study that recommends merging all five of the township's volunteer fire companies into one department to better streamline operations.

Mays Landing's Station 18-1 responded to an activated fire alarm at 5303 Harding Hwy the Sandpiper Condos at 11:52pm on March 23rd 2009. Patrol on location found smoke showing.  Cologne's Station 18-5 was dispatched as well at 11:56pm. Patrol then advised of a working fire in apartment 408. A FAST team was called from Laureldale's Station 18-3 at 12:00am.

Sign Up For The Special Needs Registry For Emergency Evacuations

The Atlantic County Office of Emergency Prepardeness has implemented the Special Needs Registry, it is a database of all County Residents that may need assistance during a time of an evacuation or any type of disaster.

Residents that are in need of special services, such as those who are Oxygen dependant, Wheel Chair bound, etc can register on-line. Once a disaster hits the people with special needs can then be easily identified.

Residents can register online at: www.ac-evac.org

Forms can also be picked up at the Mullica Twp police station.
