The Elwood Vol Fire Company would like to say a special Thank you to the Szabo Family for donating this rustic US Flag to EVFC for a appreciation for all we do. We appreciate the support of the residents of Mullica Twp.
The Elwood Vol Fire Company Received a $10,000 Grant Award from Atlantic City Electric which will be used for an electronic sign to provide real-time community information such as event, safety messages and weather alerts. The grant was awarded to Jerry Critelli Jr a 35 year member of the Elwood Vol Fire company and an employee of Atlantic City Electric.
It is with deep sadness that the Elwood Vol. Fire Company announces the passing of 25 year life member and former Chief Engineer Richard Perez. Our deepest sympathies go out to his friends and family.
Obituary of Richard Perez
Richard E. age 49 of Sweetwater, NJ passed away suddenly at his home on Monday November 28, 2016. Born in Hammonton, NJ he was raised in Elwood and graduated from Oakcrest Regional High School in 1985. He was a truck driver and operator for Barrett Asphalt in Hammonton for over 26 years and was a member of the Teamsters. Rick was a life member and former Chief Engineer for the Elwood Volunteer Fire Company Station # 160. He was known to everyone for his love of Dirt Bike riding. Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Anne Perez ( nee Johnson ). Surviving are his Fiancé Deborah Riley, his sons Gabriel, Joseph, Michael and Aaron. His brother William E. Perez and his wife Nancy and nephew Jacob Perez. 2 Half Brothers, Raymond Perez and his wife Joy and Jay Perez. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday from 9:00am – 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Services will be held at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park Tilton Rd. Pomona, NJ In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association Philadelphia, PA Office, Suite 100 Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.

DeFRANCISCO, JAMES N. - 70, of Hammonton passed away on Thursday July 9, 2015 at Virtua Health Systems in Voorhees. Born in Hammonton he lived there the majority of his life. Jim was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Before retiring he worked in the security department at Resort's International in Atlantic City. Jim was a former member of the Elwood Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and raising his dogs. He was predeceased by his parents, John A. and Katherine DeFrancisco, and his brother, John DeFrancisco. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon DeFrancisco; three children, James N. DeFrancisco Jr. (Gina) of Moorestown, Lisa Mondsini of Florida and Michelle Batezel of Franklinville; his grandchildren, Shawn, Nicole, Jessica, Nicholas, Nina, Nikki and Anthony; his great granddaughter, Arianna, his sister in law, Patty DeFrancisco of Hammonton; his nephew, John R. DeFrancisco of Brigantine, his nieces, Amy O'Reilly (Patrick) and Kelly DeFrancisco all of Williamstown; his sister in law, Betty Van Hekle (Carl); his brothers in law, Eddie McGinty (Barbara) and Donald McGinty (Cheryl). He is also survived by many cousins and friends. A viewing will be held on Monday July 13, 2015 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. The Elwood Fire Company would like to remind everyone that Memorial Day is a United States Federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who perished while in military service to our country.
