Incident #64 Duerer St Near Mossmill Rd for MVA Roll Over.

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company was called out at 3:42am on July 27th for an MVA w/roll over. On arrival at 3:47am Rescue 16-4, Engine 16-3 and Tanker 16-5 with a full crews, used the thermal camera to help police look for the driver. The driver was never located. All units were clear at 5:35am

Hammonton: Car into Building with Fire

Fire-Rescue News

The Hammonton Fire Department was called at about 8:30am on July 26th 2008 for a Possiable Structure Fire. They were then advised there was a veichle into the building with fire. The driver was transported to Kessler Hospital with minor injuries.

Incident #63 - Port Republic for Tanker Task Force Assignment

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company was called to River Rd in Port Republic for a Tanker Task Force Assignment due to a Structure Fire. Tanker 16-5 responded with a full crew. they delivered 2 loads of water before clearing at 3:30am.

Incident #58 07/16/2008 - 3134 White Horse Pike for Wires Down

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company was called out on Wednesday July 16th at 3:40pm for the report of wires down in the area of 3134 White Horse Pike. Engine 16-3 & Support 16-1 responded and stood by until the Electric Company arrived and cut the power. This is the third time this week the wires have come down on that stretch of road. The Electric Company said the sub station is down in Egg Harbor City and they have diverted power to EHC though the power lines along Rt 30. The lines should be able to handle the extra power but are failing. They said they will be working on replacing them.

Call #52 Sweetwater Casino for a Structure Fire.

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company along with Sweetwater, Nesco, and Weekstown were called to the report of a structure fire at The Sweetwater Casino at 4:10am on June 30th. On arrival crews found heavy fire through the roof. Mutual aid was immediately called in from Hammonton, Egg Harbor and Lower bank. Shortly after the Tanker Task Force was called. The fire continued to rage out of control for hours. Over 12 other companies were called in to assist in battling the blaze. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were destroyed.
