Fire Rescue News - ELECTRICAL FIRE FORCES A.C. APARTMENT BUILDING EVACUATION

ATLANTIC CITY -- More than 300 residents were evacuated Wednesday night, after an electrical fire at The Metropolitan Plaza, an apartment building on S. Rhode Island Ave.

Officials say the fire started around 8:30 Wednesday evening in the electrical access box on the second floor of the building, which spread to the walls and an adjacent parking garage.

Emergency crews, fire department, police and the Red Cross are all currently on the scene, assisting in relocating hundreds of residents. We will be sure to keep you posted as details become available.

Fire Rescue News - Buena Vista home destroyed in late-night blaze

Three people were left homeless Tuesday night after a fire destroyed their home.

State Police from barracks in Buena Vista responded to the fire, which was reported at 11:30 p.m., and saw the home fully engulfed, they said.

Police said the fire occurred at 411 Route 54 and no one was injured in the fire.

Although the fire is still under investigation, police said it does not appear suspicious.

Firefighters from Richland, Collings Lake, Newtonville, Monroe, Forest Grove, East Vineland, Dorothy, Folsom and Hammonton fire departments responded to the fire.

Emergency medical personnel from Minotola also responded.

Fire Rescue News - Fire damages Hammonton home

A late-night fire damaged a Hammonton home.

The fire happened in a home along 3rd Street, between Ranere Avenue and Francis Street. Officials say the fire started in the home's cellar - and that no one was injured.

Hammonton Police and Fire personnel and local EMS crews remained at the scene at 11:30 p.m.

There's no word on the amount of damage - or what might have started the fire.
