Theodore O. Reinhard, Sr. “Ted” age 84, a lifetime resident of Egg Harbor City, passed away on August 23, 2013 at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point.  Ted was a master cabinet maker for P.J. Reinhard & Sons and was a partner in the company along with his brothers. He was a member of the Atlantic County Firefighters Assoc.  His commitment to the service extended well beyond his local community, devoting years of service to the Atlantic County Firefighters Assoc. while serving as a longtime executive committeeman and as President of the Assoc. for fifteen years.  

Ted may be best known as an instructor for the Fire Academy, sharing his knowledge and wisdom with thousands of new firefighters.  In 1993 while serving as Association President, Ted saw one of his dreams come true, dedication of the Anthony “Tony” Canale Fire Training Center.  The equipment room in the Training Center is named and dedicated to Ted for another of his many legacies, procuring the donation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of the State of the Art equipment for the training of firefighters. He wanted, and made sure, that Atlantic County had the best!  

Ted was a life member of the Egg Harbor City Vol. Fire Co. and served as Chief, Captain and President; he was past President of the Exchange Club and was an active member of the community.  He served his country honorably in the US Army.  He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending holidays with them, especially Christmas.  He was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and was proud of his family’s history in Egg Harbor City.
