Fire damages kitchen at Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company

Egg Harbor Township police are investigating a fire that caused significant damage in the kitchen of the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company building Monday night.

Assistant Chief Steven Sear said the fire started around 7 p.m. The building was unoccupied at the time of the blaze and firefighters responded to extinguish it.

The cause is under investigation. Sear said and police at the scene declined comment.

No one was hurt, Sear said.

Porch fire displaces family of five in Atlantic City

Fire-Rescue NewsATLANTIC CITY - An early morning porch fire, which displaced the family of five from the residence, is under investigation. Light was reported at about 3:30 a.m. on Maxwell Avenue, an area where homes are very close to each other, said Fire Chief Dennis Brooks. Atlantic City Electric was called to shut down power to the home. An arson investigator was also called to the scene, Brooks said.
