One injured in Pleasantville fire
PLEASANTVILLE — One person was injured in a fire that ravaged a home Monday afternoon on Seneca Avenue. The Pleasantville Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a single-family home on the street about 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, there was heavy fire throughout the home's first floor, extending out the windows up to the second floor, Battalion Chief Ken Crawford said. The fire was under control shortly after 3:30 p.m. All eight occupants were out of the building when firefighters arrived, and one had sustained minor burns, Crawford said. That person was taken to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point by Northfield EMS for treatment. No names were released. Fire companies from the Atlantic City International Airport and Northfield assisted the Pleasantville Fire Department at the scene, while companies from Absecon and Ventnor provided coverage for the rest of the city.
