Three people were hurt Friday in two separate accidents that took place on the White Horse Pike within little more than an hour, Galloway Township police said.

Neighbors tried to rescue elderly woman from fatal Hammonton house fire

HAMMONTON - Authorities have identified the woman who died in a house fire Thursday as Lois Press, 90, who had been married to the former owner of Ideal Manufacturing Co., a popular women's clothing store.

Also injured was Press's caretaker, Bonia Chikoyani, who suffered minor burns. Chikoyani was treated and released from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Hammonton campus.

EVFC Incident #51 05/06/2010 at 6:59pm - 625 Fairview Ave in Hammonton for a Structure Fire

Incidents Engine-163 & Tanker-165 along with Support 161 responded to Hammonton for a fully involved structure fire. Lauraldale's Station 18-3 covered the Elwood station until they were clear.
