PLEASANTVILLE - A fire destroyed a vacant two-story home Saturday night, Pleasantville Fire Battalion Chief Eric Foster said Sunday.

Foster said fire crews were called to the home at East Park Avenue and the bay just after 11 p.m. Saturday. The wooden house sat at the end of the road closest to the bay.

When they arrived, they found the vacant property fully engulfed in flames. The building collapsed shortly afterwards.

Foster said two fire engines and a ladder truck were used to douse the blaze and fire crews were able to clear the scene by 3 a.m. Sunday.

Fire crews from Absecon and Northfield filled in at the city's fire stations during the incident.

No injuries were reported and no one was inside the home at the time, Foster said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
