Fire-Rescue News- Police in Absecon search for suspect after car fire

Someone set fire to a car parked on Oyster Bay Road in Absecon, police said Monday, and they are looking for the suspect.

Several people called 911 at about 2 a.m. Sunday to report a car on fire in the parking lot of Building 27 in the Oyster Bay Complex, police said. Officers and firefighters arrived to find the car fully engulfed in flames. The owner lives in a nearby building.

At least one other vehicle in the parking lot also was damaged, police said. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call Absecon police at 609-641-0667.

ATLANTIC COUNTY-- It's an event that's part motorcycle, part poker and it's all to help one fellow rider.

"A poker run consists of 5 stops. Everybody draws a card at each stop and at the end there's a 5–card poker hand, best hand wins simple as that," said organizer Frank D’Alonzo.

ATLANTIC CITY - Firefighters responded just before noon Thursday to a blaze at a three-story, corner building at Connecticut and Grammercy avenues.

The fire was extinguished by 12:30 p.m. The building sustained some damage to the second floor. More than a dozen fire trucks, rescue and other emergency vehicles responded to the scene.

Officials had no report of injuries or whether anyone was inside when the fire started.
