Brush fire contained near Garden State Parkway in Port Republic
Posted: Wednesday, March 30, 2016 6:55 pm The brush fire near exit 48 off the Garden State Parkway has now been contained, Section C7 Fire Warden John Sanford said. Sanford also noted that it spread to about 50 acres. At the scene were crews from the Port Republic Fire Department, the New Gretna Fire Department and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

Notified electric company with pole number. Established safe area and stood by until electric company arrived and disconnected power. All units cleared at 7:50pm
