EVFC Incident #76 09/18/2015 at 7:11am - 4318 White Horse Pike for an Motor Vehicle Accident

IncidentsCalled out for an overturned vehicle. On arrival, driver was out of the vehicle and ok. Cut battery cables and stood by until tow truck removed vehicle.

EVFC Incident #75 09/17/2015 at 4:41am - Route 30 and Wharton Park Blvd for a Motor Vehicle Accident

IncidentsReceived a call for a motor vehicle accident. Arrived on scene and found the passengers were out of the vehicle. Rescue 16-2 provided lighting to search for the driver that was hiding in the woods while Engine 16-3 searched with the Thermal Imaging Camera. Held traffic so the tow truck operator could remove the vehicle and cleared the scene.

EVFC Incident #74 09/10/2015 at 3:48am - 4425 Absecon Rd for a Smoke Investigation

IncidentsCalled for the report of the smell of smoke in the house. Checked whole house with thermal camera. Recalled Station 161. No smoke or heat found. Only the strong odor of a pungent woodland creature (aka Skunk). All station 160 units were clear at 4:16am

Federally mandated radio upgrades costing South Jersey towns

Towns all over the U.S. are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy new public safety radio systems, in a rush to meet a 2017 Federal Communications Commission deadline.

Most towns locally have already have made significant investments in the Project 25 mandatory upgrade to digital radios that can communicate with 

any other P25 radio.

Hamilton Township has bonded about $500,000 for its new radios, said Township Administrator Mike Jacobs, and Egg Harbor City bonded $110,000, said Chief Financial Officer Jodi Kahn.
