Incident #2: MVA and LZ assignment On Tuesday the 8th at 4:58pm the Elwood Fire Company was called to Route 30 and Elwood Rd for a MVA and Helicopter Landing at the Elwood School. Engine 16-3 responded to the MVA for a gasoline leak and EMS assist. Tanker 16-5 responded to the Elwood School and handled the landing zone. One person was airlifted to Atlantic City Trauma Unit and one person was transported to Kessler Hospital in Hammonton by Hammonton Rescue. All units were clear at 5:51pm.

Incident #1 for 2008 - Chimney Fire On Monday Jan. 7th at 6:02am the Elwood Fire Company along with Nesco, Weekstown and Sweetwater were called to 2174 Elwood Rd for the report of a chimney fire. Engine 16-3 responded with a full crew and arrived on location shortly after. The chimney fire was out on arrival and the crew cleared the fire out in the fire place, they also laddered the roof and used chimney cleaning equipment to remove any burning embers. The home owner was advised not to use the fire place until it could be inspected and cleaned. All units were clear at 6:51am.

Photos by David Brining Click here for More Photos Helmet Cam Video 1 Helmet Cam Video 2 Probationary Firefighters Currently Attending Firefighter-I Nathan Brining Kevin Jordan Stephen Sperlak Jr. Incident #97: Fuel Oil Spill On Wednesday at 5:35pm the Elwood Fire Company responded to a report of a fuel oil spill at Elwood/Weymouth rd and Reading ave. On arrival Engine 16-3 found fuel oil spilled on the roadway in the north bound lane of Elwood/Weymouth rd all the way out to 322. They also found fuel spilled east down Reading to a junk yard off of Reading Ave. E-16-3, R-16-4 and Support 16-1 assisted Mullica Police with traffic and also provided lighting for over 5 hours while the Twp, County and State agencies preformed clean up. A flat bed truck carrying a large oil tank that was leaking was found to be the cause.
