Call #52 Sweetwater Casino for a Structure Fire.

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company along with Sweetwater, Nesco, and Weekstown were called to the report of a structure fire at The Sweetwater Casino at 4:10am on June 30th. On arrival crews found heavy fire through the roof. Mutual aid was immediately called in from Hammonton, Egg Harbor and Lower bank. Shortly after the Tanker Task Force was called. The fire continued to rage out of control for hours. Over 12 other companies were called in to assist in battling the blaze. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were destroyed.

Incident #48 - Rt 30 and 10th Ave for a Car Fire

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company was called to Rt30 and 10th ave for car fire on June 22nd at 5:24pm. On arrival Chief Tomasco found a car with the engine compartment fully involved. Engine 16-3 with a crew of 5 arrived at 5:30pm and extinguish the fire. Tanker 16-5 arrived and supplied water to E-16-3. The Mullica Twp Police shut down traffic on Rt 30 west bound for about 15 minutes while the crews worked. All units were clear at 5:57pm.

Incident #44: MVA - Moss Mill Rd & Skyes Ave

IncidentsThe Elwood Vol. Fire Company was called to a one car Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) on Moss Mill Rd & Skyes ave on June 15th at 8:13am. Engine 16-3 responded with a crew of 4 and Rescue 16-4 also responded with a crew of 4. On arrival at 8:18am the crews cut the battery cables & hosed down the engine compartment. One person was transported to Kessler Hospital by Hammonton Rescue. All units were clear at 8:36am.

Incident #43 MVA w/entrapment & LZ

IncidentsThe Elwood Fire Company was called to Moores Ave & Chestnut Rd for an overturned vehicle on June 14th at 6:58pm. Rescue 16-4 responded with a full crew of 4. Engine 16-3 with a crew of 5. On arrival at 7:08pm R-16-4 used the jaws of life to remove the door and free the driver. Engine 16-3 landed the helicopter while Nesco's pumper stood by with a charged hand line. All units we clear at 7:50pm.

Events

The Elwood Fire Company participated in the 4th Annual Mullica Township Community Day Saturday June 4th. 2008.

Elwood was join by other surrounding Fire & Rescue Companies.
