Fire/Rescue News - MULLICA TWP BLAZE DAMAGES HOME, RESIDENTS FORCED OUT

Fire-Rescue News

        NBC40 Video

MULLICA TWP.--Some home improvement work appears to have caused a blaze in Mullica Township Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews from several volunteer departments responded to the residence on the 500 block of Warton Park Boulevard shortly after 3:30p.m.

Despite crews getting a handle on the blaze in less than 15 minutes, the house did sustain serious smoke and water damage.

"Guy working on plumbing and a torch set a fire up inside the wall into the crawl space and wound up in the attic," explains Assistant Chief Louis Critelli of Elwood Volunteer Fire Company.

Fire officials say it may be some time before the residents of the house will be able to move back in.
