Fire/Rescue News - Pedestrian killed in Galloway Township crash

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - Galloway Township police are looking for help in solving a car accident that killed a pedestrian late Tuesday night.

The accident happened at 7:59 p.m. at the intersection of Route 30 and Seventh Avenue, according to township police. The unidentified man was hit by a vehicle traveling east, and he died at the scene. The case is being handled by the Galloway Township Traffic Unit and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigation Unit.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any other information is asked to contact Galloway Patrolman Richard Barber at 609-652-3705 ext. 049.

Fire started by a plumbers torch and extended into the craw space and attic.Thermal image camera used to check for further extension.

Mutual Aid companies were Sweetwater, Nesco, Weekstown, Hammonton, South Egg Harbor and Hammonton Rescue

All units were clear at 5:26pm.

HAMMONTON - A school bus driver was hospitalized Monday morning after the bus she was driving struck a tree at the intersection of Central and Valley avenues.

According to C. Dan Blachford, the superintendent of the Hammonton School District, a bus carrying five students was turning left onto Valley Avenue from Central Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. when its driver, Holly Johnson, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a group of trees between the two roadways....Continue Reading
