The Brigantine Elks Lodge was damaged by fire Friday evening, but firefighters' quick response contained the damage to a small area, a fire official said.

MULLICA - Detectives were searching for one and possibly two people who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Mullica Township on Wednesday night, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel said in a statement.

The two-car crash killed Christina Rivera, 29, and Belinda Dillihay, 61, both of Atlantic City, Housel said. Rivera was driving on Route 30 at about 10:20 p.m. when a Jeep Wrangler struck Rivera’s car head-on about one mile from Elwood Road......Continue Reading

A Bridgeton man faces murder charges after allegedly stealing a paramedic vehicle and crashing into another vehicle, killing the driver, while trying to elude police.

Michael A. Jones, 46, allegedly stole the sport utility vehicle from a remote paramedic station for Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Franklin Township at about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday and fled southward into Vineland, where city police picked up the chase around Delsea Drive and Chestnut Avenue.....Continue Reading

ESTELL MANOR--Over the last several months, controlled burns have been taking place in heavily wooded areas across the state, under the close watch of the state Forest Fire Service. Today in the Atlantic County Park, several acres were burned, but not nearly the amount they were planning for.
