Fire Rescue News - FIREFIGHTERS BATTLING BLAZE IN GALLOWAY TWP.

 GALLOWAY TWP. -- Firefighters are currently on scene of a working structure fire in Galloway Twp.

While exact details are unclear at this time, we know crews are battling a structure fire at a two-story home on the 500 block of Pestalozzi Ave.

EVFC Incident #32 03/27/2011 at 5:56pm - 500 Elwood Rd (Mullica Twp School) for a Natural Gas leak

Incidents

Investigated area around gas meter and gas lines on roof. Notified gas company. No leaks found. All units were clear at 6:43pm

EVFC Incident #31 03/27/2011 at 2:10pm - Route 30 & Burdick Ave for for a Motor Vehicle Accident

Incidents

A vehicle was rear-ended while attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Burdick Ave. Elwood Fire Dept assisted EMS with patient removal and assisted police with shutting down a section of Route 30 and redirecting traffic. All units were clear at 3:00pm

EVFC Incident #30 03/27/2011 at 1:52am - White Horse Pike Near Burdick Ave for an MVA with Entrapment & Landing Zone

Incidents

AtlantiCare ambulance was cut-off by another driver and ran into pole and tree. Extracted victim (Passanger) Driver ok. Telephone pole taken down. Verizon supervisor said pole was stable. Tanker 16-5 landed the helocopter at the Mullica Twp School. Hammonton and Nesco fire companies also responded to assist. All units were clear at 4:48am.

Fire Rescue News - FIRE DESTROYS MAURICE RIVER TWP. HOME

MAURICE RIVER TWP. -- A three-alarm fire destroyed a Maurice River Township home Saturday evening.

Officials say the fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Port Elizabeth-Cumberland Road.

Fire officials are calling it a "total loss". 18 fire departments from Atlantic, Cumberland and Cape May counties all rushed to the scene to help battle the blaze.

The homeowner was inside at the time of the fire, but no one was injured or transported to a hospital.

Fire officials believe it may have started in the home's living room, but no exact cause has been determined.
