Assisted police with blocking section of Locust. Waited for South Jersey Gas to arrive. Homeowner broke gas line with backhoe

EGG HARBOR TWP.-Officials are investigating a fire that broke out at a home in the Cardiff section of the township.

Firefighters were called to a home on the 100 block of Lucille Drive around 10:45 Wednesday for reports of a fire. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze that was said to be coming from the back of the house.

There is no word at this time what caused the fire. It remains under investigation.
