EVFC Incident #53 06/20/2011 at 8:47am - 317 Weymouth Road (The Homestead) for an Activated Fire Alrarm

Incidents

All units with the exception of 160 recalled by 1630A on location. Alarm set off by baby powder. Engine 16-3 responded with a crew of four.  Investigated. All Station 160 units back in service at 8:52am

South Jersey Gas requested fire department to stand by at scene for a gas leak. Once leak was contained, SJG cleared fire Department.

EGG HARBOR TWP.-Officials are investigating a fire that broke out at a home in the Cardiff section of the township.

Firefighters were called to a home on the 100 block of Lucille Drive around 10:45 Wednesday for reports of a fire. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze that was said to be coming from the back of the house.

There is no word at this time what caused the fire. It remains under investigation.

Atlantic City International Airport received a $6.7 million federal grant that will help fund construction of a 43,000-square-foot, aircraft rescue and firefighting building, U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo, R-2nd, announced Wednesday.

ATLANTIC CITY---A waterfront structure fire that started on the bay side of a building in 2009 is a constant reminder of why a fireboat in Atlantic City is necessary.
