EGG HARBOR TWP. -- Egg Harbor Township firefighters responded to a structure fire Tuesday evening in the Scullville section of the township.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Boston Avenue.

Firefighters say that upon their arrival, some smoke was showing, but the fire appeared to have started underground, then spread into the home. The blaze was extinguished quickly, and no injuries were reported. The residents of the house were there at the time of the incident, which firefighters say prevented a much bigger disaster. The home suffered interior damage.
