OCEAN CITY - A fire that sparked in a three story rooming home, could have been a lot worse, had it not been for the quick actions of firefighters called to the scene.

The fire broke out, just before 9 o'clock Monday evening on the 600 block of Wesley Avenue in Ocean City.

Officials say the blaze was confined to one room on the second floor and was quickly contained.

The surrounding units only suffered smoke damage.

Only the residents of the damaged unit have been displaced.

Fire fighters say preliminary reports indicate Christmas lights may have sparked the blaze, although they are continuing their investigation.
