HAMILTON TWP. -- Two juveniles have been arrested after allegedly setting fire to two houses in Hamilton Twp.

Hamilton Twp. Police responded to two separate structure fires in the Mizpah section of the township around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. An unoccupied residence on Albany Ave and an unoccupied residence on New Orleans Ave were found burning.

During the investigation, two juvenile males from Hamilton Township were identified as suspects. They were interviewed and charged with two counts of Arson (2nd degree), two counts of criminal mischief (3rd degree) and two counts of conspiracy (3rd degree). The juveniles were lodged in Harborfields.

Mizpah and Weymouth Volunteer Fire Departments helped extinguish the fires. No injuries were reported.

LONGPORT -- The Volunteer Fire Department celebrated 100 years in service Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters from all over South Jersey Kicked off the ceremonies with a parade down Atlantic Avenue. Following the procession, those in the department and the community were invited to a party with music, food and a few short words from those who serve at the department.

During the ceremony, Chief Levon Clayton made sure to thank those in the community and says without their support, the department would not exist.

"Its unusual that people think of Longport as being such an affluent part of the community, that we still have a volunteer fire department. And that shows that the community and our local year-round residents still feel a dedication to the town."

Congressman Frank Lobiondo was in attendance and says that without the volunteers, 100 years would have been impossible to achieve.
