Margate Police arrested a Pennsylvania man Friday for setting two cars on fire this month one street apart from each other.

Matthew Byrne, 23, of Bristol Township, Pa., allegedly set ablaze a car on the 100 Block of North Monroe Avenue on July 10, then did the same thing to another car on South Madison Avenue on July 16.

Both incidents were ruled arson, and a security camera at the second location led to Byrne's arrest.

Police charged Byrne with two counts of arson and two counts of criminal mischief. He is in Atlantic County jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

The way Byrne set fire to the cars is still under investigation.

A single-car accident and a marsh fire tied up traffic on the Margate Bridge for about 40 minutes Saturday afternoon.

Police said the two incidents were unrelated but happened at about the same time. Police said no one was injured badly in the single-car accident at the Margate Bridge, where a car ran into a toll booth. At about the same time, a wildfire of unknown origin flared up on an adjacent marsh.

The fire was contained as of 3 p.m., police said.

HAMMONTON — Police are looking for the driver of a black pickup truck following a hit-and-run accident Friday night at the intersection of Weymouth Road and Reading Avenue.

SOMERS POINT -- A fire broke out at the popular bar and restaurant late Thursday night.

Exact details are still being gathered, but we are told that multiple fire crews were called in to assist.

It's believed they were able to get the blaze under control around 10:40pm, but it's still unclear how far the flames were able to spread.

No word on any injuries at this time. We'll be sure to update the information once it is released from authorities.

EGG HARBOR TWP. -- An accident Wednesday afternoon sent a number of people to the hospital.

It happened around 3:00pm on Mill Road when two cars collided, flipping one onto its side.

Exact details of what caused the crash, or who's fault it was has yet to be released by police.

At least two people were taken away in ambulances.

More information is expected to be released Thursday morning.
