Fire Rescue News - Risk of forest fires remains "very high" in central and southern New Jersey

High winds, warm temperatures and drought conditions have officials concerned about the potential for forest fires, and on Wednesday the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for central and southern New Jersey.

GALLOWAY TWP--Nicole Dillihay and her brother Daryl gather by a tree dedicated to their mother Belinda. She was killed six months ago in a head-on crash with a Jeep Wrangler in Mullica Township.

"I've accepted the fact that my mom is not here. Her birthday is September 19th it's coming up. I feel like I'm going in reverse," said Nicole Dillihay, victim's daughter.

Fire Rescue News - Hamilton Township home damaged by early-morning fire

A Hamilton Township home was evacuated after an early-morning fire.

The fire was reported after 3 a.m., in the 2500 block of Long Avenue, near Pearce Road, according to a Hamilton Township Police Department press release. When police and fire officials arrived, they found the home filled with smoke - with flames visible.

No one was injured.

Laureldale Fire Department, Cologne Fire Department, and the Galloway Fire Department helped extinguish the flames. Officials still aren't sure what sparked the fire.
