Fire Rescue News - Pedestrian injured after being struck by car on Route 40 in Hamilton Township

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP-  A juvenile suffered a leg injury Saturday when he was struck by a car traveling West on Route 40, police said.

Police said Alfred Vendrasco, 71, of Vineland  was driving west on Route 40 near Hoover Drive when he struck the pedestrian, who was "walking in the westbound lanes," according to a police report.

The juvenile was taken by medevac helicopter to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City; his injuries were not life threatening, police said.

Police said Vendrasco was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
