EVFC Incident #100 08/28/2025 at 3:58am - 4831 S White Horse Pike in Elwood for Structure Fire 1600 arrived on scene and found front porch was on fire. Police department had used fire extinguishers to knock down the fire. Tanker 16-5 finished extinguishment and checked for extension. Fire was contained to the porch contents and furniture. State Fire Investigator responded and investigated. Cause of fire is unknown.
EVFC Incident #99 08/23/2025 at 11:56pm - Columbia Rd & Reading Ave in Elwood for Illegal BurnCalled for an illegal burn at 5th and Reading. Confirmed the location to be in the Columbia Pit. Requested forest fire C8 to assist in getting to fire to extinguish it. Stood by until released by forest fire.
EVFC Incident #98 08/19/2025 at 10:05am - 3000 S 1st Rd in Elwood for Illegal BurnReceived a call for smoke behind a rubbish yard. Arrived on scene and found a large pit of construction debris smoldering. The crew from Tanker 16-5 wet down the pile and cleared the scene. Alerted dispatch that the pile will smolder for a while but there was no safety threat. Tanker 16-5 cleared the scene.
EVFC Incident #97 08/16/2025 at 10:32pm - 2710 7th Ave in Sweetwater for an Activated Fire AlarmRecalled by 1630 on location, false alarm
EVFC Incident #96 08/09/2025 at 12:40pm - 1 Club House Dr in Elwood for an Activated Fire AlarmCalled for an automatic alarm at 1115 Heildelberg Ave. Arrived and found no alarm. Was then advised the correct address was 1 Club House Dr. Found to be a cooking incident, 16-5 and 16-21 ventilated the structure and checked the alarms.
EVFC Incident #95 08/07/2025 at 4:29pm - Rt.30 & Snowhill Rd in Elwood for a motor vehicle crashCalled for a MVA. 1600 arrived to find a 3 car motor vehicle crash involving a Tractor Trailer and advised of entrapment. Rescue 16-2 arrived and began extrication on one occupant. Engine 16-3 arrived and assisted with manpower. Cut power to the vehicle and assisted in roadway cleanup.
