Fire/Rescue News - Fire reported in the Mizpah section of Hamilton Township, Atlantic County

The Mizpah Fire Company (18-2) was called  along with Weymouth Fire Company (18-4) to a working structure fire at 10:35am on Dec 24th at 3458 Dehirsch ave. The Mayslanding Fire Company (18-1) was also called to respond with a tanker and ladder. The fire started at the heater in the basement.

A fire was reported in the Mizpah section of Hamilton Township -- down the road from the community's fire department.

The fire, happening in the 6400 block of DeHirsh Avenue near Sewell Avenue.

Hamilton Township police dispatchers confirmed the fire, but little is known about when it started, or what type of building is involved.

The Mizpah Volunteer Fire Department was not available for comment.

Fire/Rescue News - No injuries in boat fire at Cape May County dry dock

UPPER TOWNSHIP — A fire on a boat in dry dock at Yank’s Marine on the Tuckahoe River was quickly brought under control Tuesday.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is unknown.

Firefighters from Tuckahoe and Seaville responded to the fire, which started at about 4 p.m., according to firefighters on the scene.

Fire/Rescue News - Injuries in Egg Harbor Township car accident

At least one person was injured, after a car accident at Black Horse Pike and Delancy Avenue in Egg Harbor Township.

The accident happened at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. A blue Chevy and gray Toyota were involved.

Police officers diverted traffic as emergency crews loaded the injured driver into an ambulance.

There's no word on the extent of the man's injuries -- how the accident happened, or how many additional people were hurt.

Fire Rescue News - Northfield firefighters say medical-complex blaze appears accidental

Northfield firefighters are still investigating what caused the huge blaze that severely damaged the Mainland Medical Center at New and Zion roads on Friday.

Fire Chief Hank Martinelli said Monday that the fire - which took firefighters about six hours to contain - appears to have been accidental.

The west wing of the medical center was destroyed, but firefighters managed to save the east and south wings....Continue Reading

ATLANTIC CITY - An 8-year-old boy was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with setting a fire in a North Carolina Avenue apartment that displaced four people, a fire official said.

The fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Atlantic Garden Apartments in the 100 block of N. North Carolina Avenue, the same complex where firefighters rescued two boys from an Oct. 24 blaze, Battalion Chief Michael Mooney said.....Continue Reading

Fire Rescue News - Christmas tree fire damages home in Millville

A fire sparked by lights on a live Christmas tree caused significant damage to a Millville home, a fire official said.

The fire was reported at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday at a two-story house on the 300 block of Crest Avenue, fire Capt. Doug Hallquist said, and was brought under control in about two hours, although a few fire trucks became stuck in the snow.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, Hallquist said, and the fire displaced two to three people.
