Troopers are still on the scene investigating an accident on Route 322 in Folsom, where a 42-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle, State Police said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was struck by a vehicle at about 8:25 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 322 near milepost 33, beteween Cains Mill Road and 13th Street, according to State Police, Buena Vista station. It is not yet known why she was in the roadway.

This is the second pedestrian fatal within a monthon the Black Horse Pike in Folsom. Another woman was killed crossing the highway the night of Aug. 31.
