Fire Destoys Building at Fiberglass Pool Business in Hammonton

1:10 p.m. Update - HAMMONTON - An overnight fire destroyed the operations building at Water World Fiberglass Pools at 700 Reading Ave.

Fire officials said they were called to the scene before midnight Monday and remained until 5:30 a.m. today. Fire companies from Burlington, Camden, Atlantic, Gloucester and Salem counties responded to help provide water for the operation.

The cause of the fire is still under investagion. No injuries were reported.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection was on scene monitoring water runoff, and state emergency management officials were checking air quality.

The company manufactures fiberglass pools and pool molds. Company officials said they plan to continue operations in a nearby building not affected by the fire.
