ATLANTIC CITY -- We first brought to you on Monday about a story out of Atlantic City, where 10 adults and 14 children were displaced after their apartment building went up in flames.

Management at Carver Hall apartments on North South Carolina Avenue promised the fire victims to place them in vacant apartments available on the property, but today when some of them arrived to get their keys to their new homes, the management office was closed.

Three of the six families that are staying at a motel were scheduled to be placed today, despite concerns.

"I just pray that this wont happen again and code enforcement really look and make sure everything is right," says fire victim Wanda Bishop.

The rest of the families are expecting to move by next week, but at this point in time, no one moved today.

WOODBINE -- A fast moving fire Wednesday afternoon reduced a local home to ashes.

It broke out just after noon on the 200 block of Calhoun Avenue. The flames quickly spread throughout the home, completely destroying everything inside.

Officials say it was a total loss, but fortunately nobody was home at the time and no injuries were reported from the scene.

We're told the property was up for sale and was owned by Roger Geene, a former Woodbine Council candidate.

Investigators are now working to find what may have originally sparked the blaze.
