BRIDGETON - An early morning fire displaced nearly 50 resident at an apartment complex displacing them from their homes during the holidays.

AT LEAST ONE PERSON DEAD FOLLOWING HOUSE FIRE

RICHLAND - One person is dead following a fully engulfed structure fire in Buena Vista Township.

The Atlantic County Fire Marshall confirmed to NBC40 that one person was fatally injured during the blaze that broke out just before 7 o'clock Friday evening in the Richland Section of the township.

Heavy flames and smoke billowed out of the second floor of the home on the 100 block of Tereck Road.

Preliminary reports indicate people were trapped inside the burning home, officials say.

Numerous fire companies were on scene to assist including, Richland, Buena Vista, Minotola, and Maurice River township as well as State Police and EMS.

No word on any other injuries or how the blaze began.

The fire remains under investigation.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - The situation was a firefighter's worst nightmare.

All five companies of the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department were on the scene of a two-alarm blaze at the Country Place Condominiums last month when responders realized the nearest hydrant was rusted shut.

TWO HELICOPTERS CALLED TO GALLOWAY TWP. ACCIDENT

GALLOWAY TWP. - Police are investigating a car accident that occurred Monday evening in Galloway Township.

It happened around 6 o'clock in the area of Aloe Street and Berlin Avenue.

It is unknown how many cars were involved but two medevacs were called to the scene to transport victims to area hospitals.

It is believed that at least two people were entrapped and the jaws of life was called to assist at the scene.

Police are still continuing their investigation.
