EVFC Incident #52 03/15/2026 at 10:51pm - 500 Elwood road in Elwood for an Activated Fire Alarm

IncidentsReceived a call for an activated fire alarm at the Elwood school. Arrived on scene and investigated. Found a defective head outside the library. Tried blowing the dust out of the unit but did not help. The school is having the head replaced in the morning. Reactivated the system without the head and cleared the scene.

EVFC Incident #51 03/13/2026 at 8:47am - 1000 Soccer Ln in Elwood for a Public Service Assist

IncidentsReceived a call for a public assist. Utility16-4 was requested to help pull out a Township front loader that got sunk in the mud at the Rec. fields. 16-4 arrived on scene to try and pull the loader out but was unsuccessful. Advised the operator to contact a heavy wrecker to help recover the machine.

EVFC Incident #47 3/02/2026 at 11:14am - Corner of Elwood Rd and Reading Ave. in for an Motor Vehicle Crash Entrapment

IncidentsMVA w/ entrapment. ACE bucket truck vs. compact SUV. 16-4 used winch to pull back ACE truck off of driver door of SUV. Jaws used to remove SUV driver. Placed on backboard and transported by ambulance. ACE driver refused treatment. Stood by until vehicles were removed from the roadway.

IncidentsFound a smoke detector in alarm used air to clean reset the alarm and notified management to have alarm company check the system
