SOMERS POINT -- It was a chance to keep cool on a hot day, as members of the community came together to support their fire department at a local yogurt place.

Dozens of people came to the Yogo Factory in Somers Point for a big fundraiser to support the Somers Point Volunteer Fire Department. Officials say they had a great turnout, and the kids especially loved the event.

"It’s great, the kids love to come out to these events, get to see the dogs, get to see fire trucks and see a little bit of what's out there,” said Mark McElwee, K-9 Handler, Somers Point Police Dept.

Fun and entertainment were also on hand, as the police department's K–9 unit also provided a demonstration.
