ATLANTIC CITY -  A fire broke out at an Atlantic City high rise Sunday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 5:30 this evening, on a mid–level floor at the Shore Park Apartments on the 200 block of North Virginia Avenue. A section of concrete near one of the balconies was badly charred.

Fire officials have released few details about the fire at this time, but there were no injuries reported.

The fire is still being investigated.

Mullica Twp- A brush fire that broke out on an island in the Mullica River has already burnt five acres of land and is still spreading, officials say.

According to firefighters on scene, the fire broke out around noon Friday. The exact cause is not yet known but officials say that the risk for forest/brush fires was high Friday.

The island is not accessible by truck so planes have been called in to dump water over the fire.

Firefighters have set up a controlled burn to prevent the fire from spreading and reaching houses downwind.
