Local News- Mullica Township lake to be drained starting Monday

Atlantic County will begin draining Lake Nescochague in Mullica Township on Monday to repair damage to the Pleasant Mills Dam caused by Hurricane Irene, officials said Saturday night.

The state Department of Environmental Protection ordered the repairs.

The county intends to hire Great Blue Inc. to salvage and relocate the fish in the 40-acre lake, officials said. Afterward, the lake will be completely drained for repairs to the dam.

Local News - Woman charged with forging deed to 'steal' house in Mullica Township

MULLICA TWP.--After a two month investigation, a woman is arrested for the theft of a home in Mullica Township.

Officials say Jolanda Bordley-Jackson EL, 41, who is originally from the Vineland area, unlawfully entered a home on the 1400 block of Elwood Road and took up residence with her family. Police say the home was vacant for several months and up for sale. Officials say she even submitted a fraudulent deed to Atlantic County showing ownership of the home.

Bordley-Jackson EL was arrested and charged with theft and forgery and is being held on $85,000 bail. Officials say the suspect is a member of the Moorish Temple of America, and the group believes they do not have to obey any federal or state laws.
