Carmen A. Merlino, III age 46 of Nesco passed away Saturday June 16, 2018. Carmen was born in Vineland and a resident of Nesco his entire life. He was a 1990 graduate of Oakcrest High School. Carmen was the operations manager for the family business Oakcrest Farms. He was the chief of Nesco Volunteer Fire Co. and a member for 27 years. Carmen was a member of the Atlantic County Fire Association, Atlantic County Chiefs Association and Cruisin Classics.
He is survived by his parents Carmen Jr. and Mary Jane (nee Spadoni), his children Carmen A. IV and Carley and their mother Jamie and his sister Renee.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening 6pm to 9pm and Thursday morning 9:30am to 10:30am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Anthony Church Rt #206 Hammonton, NJ.. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am at the Church. Entombment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery S. First Rd. Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carmen’s memory for his children’s education c/o Carmen A. Merlino Jr. 3223 Nesco Rd. Hammonton, NJ 08037. Arrangements entrusted to Marinella Funeral Home, Hammonton. Chief Merlino III was a member of the department for 27 years, he loved serving his community. Chief Merlino III will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Chief and thank you for your service to our department and community. Arrangements are still being made and will be shared as soon as they are available. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carmens family during this difficult time.
