Fire Rescue News- Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company celebrates 80 years, dedicates new station
EGG HARBOR TWP.-- After a fire destroyed the old fire house nearly 4 years ago, the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company dedicated a new station and tanker Sunday, as well as celebrated their 80th anniversary.
Neighboring fire departments were in attendance, and helped dedicate the new building and tanker.
Members with the company say they are proud to have served the community for 80 years, and hope to pass on the legacy left by those who founded the company.
"I'm proud and honored to say that I'm a part of this company, and that I'm carrying on what they started, and that I'm changing that and forwarding it, and transitioning it to my children, so they take an active roll in our community and give back," said Dolly Dube, president of the Lady's Auxiliary of Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company.
The new tanker was dedicated in honor of former Chief Thomas Nace, who served the company from 1981 through his retirement in 2010.
