WEYMOUTH TWP. -- A family in Atlantic County is displaced after a two-alarm fire tore through their home in Weymouth Township.

The blaze began just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday on the unit block of South Jersey Ave in the Dorothy section of the township.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames and heavy smoke to a bedroom on the second floor of the home, and it took less than an hour to extinguish the fire.

Two residents, who were not home at the time of the incident, managed to escape without any injuries.

A family of four will not be able to return to their home, and will be staying with relatives.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
