MILLVILLE - An unattended pot on the stove sparked an apartment fire Wednesday afternoon at Lakeview Manor Apartment, fire officials said.

The Millville Fire Department was called to the home at noon for reports of a fire. When crews arrived on scene, they found apartment 3F ablaze. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it could cause serious damage to other units.

Damage to apartment 3F was classified as significant, fire officials said. The unit beneath it suffered some damage as well, although it was no extensive. The building where the fired occurred contains eight units, and the odor of smoke was present throughout.

No injuries were reported.
