ATLANTIC CITY - Two boys injured in an early morning fire Oct. 24, have been released from the hospital.
Abalid and Edwin Barahona were sleeping when an electrical malfunction sparked a blaze that filled their first-floor bedroom with thick black smoke.
They were rescued from the Atlantic Gardens apartment, but both suffered from smoke inhalation, and were taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Edwin, 9, was upgraded to stable condition the next day, but Abalid, 8, remained critical.
However, both boys were released Sunday night, according to Edwin's godmother, Yesenia Delgado.
"Their mother told me yesterday," Delgado said Monday.
She did not know when they would return to Atlantic City.
