The Durango then spun out and struck a house in the 2100 block of New Road, before the driver pulled away and parked in a nearby lot, police said.

Both drivers, whose names were not released pending further investigation, were transported to nearby hospitals with unspecified injuries. No one in the house was injured, police said, but the Atlantic County Red Cross was called to assist the residents after the home was deemed uninhabitable.

New Road was shut down between Kirklin and Seaview avenues for an hour, police said.

Northfield and Somers Point police, the Linwood Fire Department and AtlantiCare rescue squad personnel assisted Linwood police. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Linwood police at 609-927-5252.
