COURT HOUSE – Stone Harbor firefighter Jake Loefflad was released from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City after falling 14 feet from a ladder at the scene of a structure fire on Sat., Feb. 19. According to a press release, Loefflad injured his back and ribs in the fall.

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE -- Court House, Rio Grande, and Stone Harbor firefighters battled a fire at 15 Fourth Avenue, Sat., Feb. 19 that resulted in three injured: one smoke inhalation, and two fallen firefighters..

This was the second major fire in Middle Township in less than 24 hours, and the third in the county, the second being earlier in the day on Court House-South Dennis Road.

A MedEvac helicopter was requested for the firefighter, but could not fly due to high wind.

Flames roared from the peaks of the dwelling, as firefighters in an aerial truck attempted to cut a hole in the roof.
