MULLICA TOWNSHIP - Jodee Blanco was tormented by bullies for much of her youth.
They called her names, physically assaulted her and crushed her self-esteem.
"Back then, they still thought that bullying didn't exist," the 46-year-old Chicago resident told students, faculty and parents Thursday at the Mullica Township Middle School. "The attitude of adults was that ‘kids will be kids.' Only one or two of my teachers attempted to...Continue Reading

MULLICA TWP.--A group of animal lovers in Atlantic County has started a non-profit horse haven. Members of the South Jersey All Breeds Horse Rescue say they will try to save as many horses as possible from certain death.
Ellen Strack doesn't just ride horses as a hobby, now she's rescuing them out of love. "We've always loved horses," said Strack, "thoroughbred rescues are important, but we're gonna be open to all horse breeds...donkeys, mules, anything that's equine."...Continue Reading

MULLICA TOWNSHIP - A dangerous tire dump off Columbia Road will soon be cleaned up thanks to liens recovered from another infamous tire dump.
In December 2008, the township acquired a massive, tire-ridden property on Columbia Road - between Elwood and Nesco roads - through tax foreclosure. The 99-acre tract, which also is littered with other kinds of debris, sits in the Makepeace Lake Conservation Area, making it an environmental and health risk.....Continue Reading
